I have a 67 small block with a 3 speed auto trans and cant get the back up lights to work in reverse. They do work when I'm in neutral and I'm wondering if I need to change out the switch. I was thinking of a 1968 or up switch may line up better since they used the 3 speed auto trans. I see there's a way to adjust the neutral safety switch, is the back up light switch built into that ? If so can they be adjusted separately ? The neutral safety works fine. Thanks

Since you say you have a 1967 Corvette with a 3 speed automatic transmission, I presume you have some sort of conversion since all original 1967 Corvette automatic transmissions were 2 speed Powerglide. However, I do not know if you have a THM-400 or THM-350.
1968-72 Corvettes with automatic transmissions used the THM-400. For these applications the neutral safety start and back-up lamp switches were an integral unit. However, this switch was activated at the transmission shifter. For a conversion, I do not know what sort of shifter you have and, therefore, whether a 1968-72 style switch will work.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1967 Auto Trans Back Up Light Switch
Joe, I know the trans in my car is a turbo 350 and I'm using the original factory shifter. I do have the original power glide but I like the 3 speed so much better. Can the power glide switch be adjusted for the 350 or do I need to change it out ? Thanks- Top

Many 1976-80 Corvettes used the THM-350 transmission. These applications also used a combined neutral-safety/back-up lamp switch which was mounted to the shifter assembly. Presumably, if you have a shifter assembly as used for 1976-80 Corvettes, this switch should work. Of course, you would need to adapt the wiring from the switch to serve the purposes of the conversion in your 1967 application.
The original GM switch was GM #370176. It was discontinued quite some time ago. However, a reproduction is manufactured by American Autowire and is available under their part number 00370176 for about 50 bucks. It's pictured below.Attached FilesIn Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
