Tire Tub Lid saw marks-Bubba or GM?

Working on the tire tub now (68) and while cleaning the tire tub lid, I noticed what are hack-saw marks in the notched portion just left of the 3-hole flange that the bracket and bolt / tire lock are mounted to. (sorry for no pic)

Were any tire tub lids "worked" by hand prior to assembly or are the saw marks clear evidence that bubba was here?

    Thanks,
    Pat

Hi Pat, I've seen factory saw marks around the lips of tire tubs, but don't ever recall seeing any saw marks on the tub lid. Let's see what others can add.

      Thanks Pat,

I will also post a pic tonight so others can really see the area I am talking about. I would be suprised if it were factory as the part is injection molded plastic so it would be hard to imagine any reason to open the part up more-but then again?

      Thanks again,
      Pat
