    67 headliner

I discovered after our long N.Y. winter that my headliner had fallen. It is only attached to the front now. Any tips on how to install the headliner?

If you are talking about a coupe, the headliner fabric is attached to a formed carboard backing. The entire piece, fabric and cardboard are removable by removing the Halo and metal trim around the edges. New ones are being reproduced.

      Benjamine,
I tried back in 1971 when I got my 67 coupe. All the air dry glue did not dry because it cut the O2 from reaching the glue.

I even shaped the sand in the kids sand box and put the headliner on the sand, then put paper over the headliner and put sand over it to hold it in place. Still no dry.

Looking back, I should have used a 2 part cure resin.

      I have a repo now.

My headliner sages and is only attached around the perimeter. Does that mean that all the adhesive has given way? It's been that way since I bought it 7 years ago. I thought that's how it was supposed to be. Thanks for the thread..

          Jim -

No adhesive was used in the original installation - it's only retained by the halo panel and perimeter garnish moldings. When the foam layer between the molded backing board and the show surface starts to crumble, the headliner is history.
