    Heater/Hoses

Am changing my heater hoses, fittings and clamps to original, what must I do other than drain the radiator to not have a wet mess everywhere? Will taking the hoses off the front drain everything from there and then I can dismantle? If not, what else has to be done to drain and what would be the procedure? Thank you, Brad.

You shouldn't need to drain the radiator to change heater hoses. I would just remove the heater hoses from the water pump and intake manifold and let them drain into a catch pan. Then remove the upper hose & clamp near the firewall in the engine compartment. If you have the old Corbin clamps buy a set of the proper pliers to remove the clamps. So much easier. Remove or pull back clamp then slice the hose with a razor knife. Peel it off and try not to twist very hard. Old parts can break. The bottom hose at the firewall has a clamp inside the car to the right of the heater. Be real careful there to see if proper parts were there in the first place with the elbo, etc. Place old towels on the carpet to catch any fluid (antifreeze) that may drip down. Nothing like antifreeze in the carpet.
