1960 paint scheme question

My 60 is approaching painting time AT LAST! My car was originally white and possibly with silver coves. At any rate it is going to have silver coves now. I have looked at dozens of white with silver images and at least half have only the actual coves painted silver the area in front of the spears to the wheel wells are white not sliver. Looking at the cars with full silver coves scheme I can see why as that amount silver is overpowering visually. Is this paint scheme with only the actual scoops silver factory or a modern adaptation of the original white and silver scheme?

Jef, the factory painted the coves and area ahead of the spears the same color.
