    Fuel return line

    Follow up on the return line clamps. There are a total of six clamps, if I'm counting correctly, (2 tank, 2 front frame and 2 right on fuel filter). The JM states there is a set (2 tower type) at the tank and one set (2 tower type) at the filter. Where is that filter set, down by frame or right up on the small filter hose? Then what and where of that set not referenced, I.E.spring or tower?

    I'm virtually certain that for 1968 the tower clamps were on the fuel return line at the filter itself. In other words, on both ends of the very short piece of tubing that connects the fuel return line to the nipple on the GF-432 filter. By the way, I always thought this tower clamp utilization at this junction looked "funky".

      Paul,

      I did not have towers at the tank when I took mine apart. I had the old flat spring type. I don't know if that is right but that is what I found. The same type was at the filter.

        Joe has got it right we have to make sure what year we are referring to. On 68s the 2 tower type clamps are at the fuel filter and then one at each end of the return line engine and tank.

        Dale if you car is a 68 then that is the norm.

          I guess its simple, all the return lines are tower clampsand no red spring clamps. Paul mine is a mid 68.

            I think the picture below is what everyone is talking about regarding the tower clamps. However, I cannot find tower clamps this small. I've been looking off and on for about 6 years. Does anyone know where I can get two?
