    1972 350 oil line fitting

Does anyone happen to know if the oil line fitting ferrule and "T-piece" are available individually from local stores? I brought the pieces shown below to the local stores and they did not have them in stock, but said they could order them if they knew the part number. I was hoping that someone here might know a part number.

I checked Corvette Central and Paragon. Both have the adapter on the left and the nut on the right plus the ferrule, but neither one shows the "T" shaped piece that inserts into the plastic hose to prevent it from being crushed. And, I'd pay as much to ship the silly parts as to buy them.

Alternately, any suggestions on how to separate the ferrule and T-piece from the 39 1/2 year old plastic oil line that is holding them together?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

If there is a source for that piece separately I don't know what it is. As far as I can tell, that piece was never even available separately from GM. It was supplied to both PRODUCTION and SERVICE as part of the hose assembly which also included the tubing nut seen on the right side of your photo.

You might check a source like McMaster-Carr, though. Small ID nylon tubing is used for a lot of applications and I would think that all would use these pieces.

Patrick, I don't know if this help any but that fitting arrangement is very similar to the one used on aftermarket air horn assemblies. The ferrils were a bit different but worked essetially the same way. If all else fails, you might check with manufacurers of pneumatic fittings or Granger or McMaster-Carr. Good luck, sorry I don't have more.

Using online catalogs for McMaster, Anderson, Grainger, etc it does not appear obvious that anyone has the compression tube support (official name for the T-piece) in the size small enough to fit inside the original oil line.

I know that I bought one from the local FLAPS several years ago, but the place sold and the new guys don't have a clue.

I will probably check the industrial supply places, and if all else fails consider buying a kit from Paragon. Based on the photo, though, the kit from them does not have a tube support.
