69 small block engine code help

Needing some help decoding an engine stamping I came across on a 69 coupe. Owner states that original engine was replaced by the dealer early in the car's life. (heard that before) Here is what I have, M01190VP no VIN on pad, was not able to read block casting # due to grime and crud build up. engine code.jpgIs this a lowly Mexican built 260 hp motor?

    Robert -

It's either a Targetmaster or Goodwrench replacement from the Toluca engine plant; I don't have those codes handy.

The replacement definitely did not happen "early in the car's life". Targetmaster or Goodwrench engines manufactured in Mexico did not even exist at that time (assuming that "early in the car's life" means the first 3 years, or so). If you look at the driver side rear bellhousing flange area you should find a "Hecho En Mexico" embossment. On the flange on one side or the other there should be a date code.
