I decided to lubricate the existing trip odometer cable on my 63 conv and reinstall this afternoon. I routed the cable through the crossbrace, but am looking for advice on the best routing from there. Should the cable go through the hole in the bracket where the brake light wires also exit (see photo) or around it? Routing it through this hole and then over the top of the steering column, exiting at the left side of the column seems to make the most sense relative to keeping everything as straight as possible. Would appreciate any feedback or photos on how the factory did it originally. Current photo shows the cable going around the bracket. Thanks!
