    WCFB Drip Question

    Hi all,

I have a WCFB that doesn't leak on the outside but, when hot, it drips from the squirter/pump jet and from the booster venturi thing on either side in the middle of the bores. At the same time, the gas level in the fuel filter bowl changes.

I am thinking adjusting the float may be the answer, but I wanted to check with the experts first.

    Thanks,

    Bob

Bob, the most common problem you have is caused by a bad leaking inlet seat. The leak stops once the pressure has releases and the valve is not fighting the fuel pressure.

Replace fuel inlet seat and reset float level and your problem will most likely go away.

Certainly a needle/seat is the first place to look. You didn't say if it was just on the primary side or in both primary and secondary. If the latter is the case, then one sould suspect dirt contamination of the needle/seats.

It could just be heat into the fuel after shutdown,... this is common if the float (front) is set to high. BUT (1) don't overlook a float that is going bad (leaking) and (2) best to use only an all brass needle and seat like orignial.
