    Romeo Interior Products?

I bought a basket case of a car two years ago that came with all the interior-seat-door-rug items new in bags, not installed. In the near future it will be time to start putting the interior together (I hope anyway). I see everyone talking or complaining about originality or fit with even NOS items, but I have not seen anyone talk about Romeo products. These items appear to be dated from 2002. I would be interested in opinions/experience with Romeo so I can make the decision to use this product for NCRS judging or move on to another company.

    Thanks

    Ken

Naw, I ain't gonna say it..... Do a search on this forum for Romeo and then start looking for another supplier.

      Ken,
Your profile shows you own a 57. Is that the basket case car your are referring to?

      Please enlighten us.

Well, I'm glad you said it, and yes I did a search but did not find anyone who had actually put in a complete interior.
        Thanks
        Ken

A 57 it is, after over 2 years it now has a new front clip, fully painted on a rolling chassis with engine and xmission in, barely! Searching for parts coast to coast!

              Re: Romeo Interior Products?

I purchased a 57 a while back and it included seat covers, dash cover and door panels that were purchased 10 years earlier.
I found that due to sitting around for 10 years (approximately) the vinyl on the door panels shrunk and started to pull. It also appeared that the seat covers and dash rail did the same.
Soft plastics (vinyl included) will lose some plasticizer over time and will change in size and other physical properties.
Buy some new parts and avoid the frustration.

Well that helps me. I would have said some things about their C3 heel pad -- but that doesn't matter to you, so I won't say anything. Thanks for the clarification.

If you're going to have it judged, check to see if the waffle pattern on various pieces (seats, door and kick panels) has the squares near edges or corners trimmed to triangular shape. There are pics in the judging manual showing this. Don't know about Romeo, but Al Knoch redid his stuff in the mid-90s to the original configuration. Earlier didn't have this detail.

                      Ken,
Since you already have the stuff I think it needs further consideration. I know nothing about 57's other that I would like to have one someday.
I suggest you take some good quality photos and post them for comments if you can. The guys on this forum can recognize what is correct and what is not. As far as fit, losing plasticizers etc., it probably has a lot to do with where and how the parts have been stored. And I would think a good installer can steam and heat to work on fit.
I have heard of issues with Romeo when it comes to delivery etc., but hadn't heard of quality issues. I actually contacted him many years ago about carpets for my 65, and it just never worked out.

I never could figure out how they could get away with stuff like that and still have the money to advertise here.

Because there is one born everyday. They see a price that is a few dollars less, see the ad in a " good source " and figure "how can I go wrong"

And that logo will get you a point deduction from knowledgeable judges
