    Car Birthday

My 66 roadster is 45 years old today

I have been fortunate to have owned the L79 for 41 years , more than 250,000 miles and still going strong with original engine , drive train.

Drive and enjoy your car while you can

    Hey Jack,

Congratulations on the "Quarter Million Mile Club"!!

Out of curiosity, how many times through the years have you had to deal with the rear wheel bearings?

      Jack,
Happy birthday to your car today! Thoroughly enjoyed your round the country trip blog. Glad to see you are still driving it on a regular basis.
Not that it matters to you, but I hear summer is coming to Maine in June this year.
My sister lived in Bangor for a few years, and up ther they claim two seasons; winter and 4th of July!

          Hi Douglas,

Lost a rear wheel in a snow storm, 1978. New spindles/bearings

New trailing arms and spindles/bearings 2004

So, believe it or not , only 3 sets, the last one has only 29,000 miles on it.

Car sat for 2 2/1 years while I had new hips and knee installed in me.

We will see which reproduction parts last the longest Cars or mine

I salute you again, Jack. Forty one years of driving an American icon.

And how many people have you encountered or passed on the roadway in 250,000 miles? 10,000, ......100,000, .......250,000...?

I rarely see a C1 or C2 driving these days, and C3's are rapidly disappearing from the roadways. At most Corvette events I attend, I see many, many more enclosed trailers than classic cars driving.

I salute you for letting so many thousands of folks enjoy seeing that Corvette, ....all the while you are enjoying it yourself!
