Is there one Irving Air Chute label on each of the four belt pieces?

Re: 1960 Seat Belt Labels
Joe,
Yes, one per piece. Here are pics of two labels. One was used from 58-mid-60 and the other in late 60 into part of 61. Also, the male piece of the seat belt attaches to the transmission tunnel side of the seats, not the opposite as the AIM shows.

Re: 1960 Seat Belt Labels
If I remember a recent post, the labels are on the underside of the belt when it is worn. Correct?
There was a post that showed the label sewed on 21" from the buckle, but the location on the male end was not listed. How many inches separates the back of the male connector from the top of the label?- Top

Re: 1960 Seat Belt Labels
Here is a picture of the underside of the buckle for my '60 as they came back from restoration. The underside of the buckle is painted red. There is some reflection on the base of the buckle which is all chrome. Hope the picture helps.Attached Files- Top

Re: 1960 Seat Belt Labels
Ok I'm confused about the location of the male vs female, on the door side for the male as per Aim but now the opposite? what good good is this damn Aim book? what is correct for judging, I'm seeing all pics of top flight cars with the aim as being right. Thanks, Brad- Top

Re: 1960 Seat Belt Labels
Brad,
The AIM is what was envisioned by the engineers. The car is what was done by the production line guys, usually because it was easier. For whatever reason, they did it opposite of the AIM. Every original car I've seen has the male portions inboard. That's what's judged.
Good luck!

Re: 1960 Seat Belt Labels
Obviously some variance in position since Bill M's '59 had the label sewn at 3.5 inches. Plus/minus 1/2" won't make much difference. My biggest problem is finding 6-bar weave and not paying over $500 for reddish-orange color. Since my car is a driver, I won't pay that much; so I am probably stuck with 4-bar weave repro belts.- Top
