I'm not certain what info you're asking about. Based on the survey Pete Lindahl and I conducted for an article on key hole size (in the knockout plug) that we wrote for the Restorer a few years ago, we concluded that the keys with the registered trademark R started appearing around Jan 1 of 1963. I think that Pete and I both believe there might have been some "no-R" keys that wound up being used up on cars made in early Jan of '63, but the no-R keys probably didn't last much after that.
So basically, no-R keys thru Dec 31, 1962; R keys starting on Jan 1. But probably the change was not complete overnight.

Joey,
Once again, based on our survey results, nearly everyone reported the large size key ring hole throughout the C2 era. By contrast, by '68 nearly everyone reported the small size key ring hole.
As with any such survey it's not possible to know who reported results for truly original keys and who reported results for replacement keys, even if the owner thought them to be original. So we never found 100% consistent results for any given year, but the trends were very clear.
