    Heater Control Valve 59 C1

I bought this replacement heater control valve (right) and it doesn't have the "coil". I believe the left side pic to be original but not sure. Do I need the coil sensor? I've search a few threads and have found pictures of them on later C1 models. thanks!

The one with the coil is the way they came from the factory. The replacements, although not correct in appearance, work correctly without it.

      John -

The original design with the capillary tube appears to have been a (primitive) attempt at constant temperature modulation, which apparently didn't work out very well and was deleted from the Service replacement valves.

You do not need the capillary tube for function. You do however need it for judging.

        Hope this helps.
