Thanks Wayne! The later NOS (80's) had the 2057 bulbs while the earlier NOS (67 & 70's NOS) had the 1157 bulb. The length is the same however rumor has it that the light blue became a light gray - I have not been able to confirm that.

Alan,

There is no doubt that my 1965 park lamps are original. As I said, the white wire is located outside of the conduit and it attaches to a terminal at the rear of the bulb socket and the other end is molded into the plug that connects to the harness at the grille / park lamp panel.

My favorite cleaner is Purple Power. Its a very powerful cleaner. I buffed the chrome with a buffing wheel and a white rouge from Eastwood. The whole assy was in great shape before I started.

Ray,
I had never seen a park lamp harness such as yours until a chapter meet last weekend and a low mile 65 had a similar configuration on both lamps, with the white wire outside the conduit.

From my 65 BB Coupe. Please disregard the large black wire. Tried to fix a lazy right blinker and was told it was caused by poor ground. Still no joy however. DJK

Sorry Chris I thought that the three pictures were different. Another way to tell is the order of the color of wires. The colors of the wiring is white in the middle and purple and light blue on the outside. Your crimps and color of wiring look original to me.

I would believe that the "color" position of the wires CONSTANTLY varies, depending on how the wires fall into place when the rubber is heat-sealed.

Rubber variation

I have an additional question - when I grabbed the 8 C2 parking lights that I have on hand, 2 had a rubber cover OVER the back of what I will call the "lamp fixture/connector"; the others all showed a cad/zinc "fixture" with rubber ending at the entrance to the sixture. When would the rubber "helmets" have appeared?

Loren, I agree with the colors at the rubber crimp, "As for the order at the crimp, again I've seen all combinations here so do not worry - the only place the color matters is at the connector and that must be all the same to work."

As for the full booted lights these are commonly seen in 63/64, in fact from original cars it appears that all 63/64 had them. Then you see, 65-66, the outside ground wire appearing (not enough original details to say when the NOS started, however 66-67 do have them.
