64 to 67 horns, marked "Made In USA", then read the word that follows.

I thought there were laws against putting a false country of origin on a product sold in the United States.

This is just an example of how far the restoration parts manufacturers go to satisfy the demands of restorers. It may be that in this case there is a paper label over the Made in USA that says Made in China and the buyer peels that off to reveal the stamped "Made in USA". Or, it may be that there is some kind of exemption in the laws regarding country of origin that allows such a stamping for reproduction parts.

I've always been against things going this far, though. For example, I believe that a manufacturer's ID mark should be just as "sacred" as a signature. It's just not the kind of thing that should be allowed to be "reproduced". A manufacturer's ID is just that; a mark that identifies the actual manufacturer of a piece.

On the other hand, understand that many parts stamped "GM" or "Delco-Remy" or any other GM trademark were and are not actually manufactured by GM. In those cases, though, the markings represent a BRAND and not an actual manufacturer's ID.

No, the photo is from a catalog from Swartz Creek, Michigan, although I would suspect most of the large vendors sell the same horns.

Nothing like restoring the originals if you have them, to me its the same thing as restamping a block.
