    '63 Fan Clutch

    Is there a way to tell if it is necessary to rebuild or replace the fan clutch? The fan rotates and seems to slip but how does one know if it is slipping too much? Thanks for any help.

      hold the clutch housing in your left hand then spin the shaft 6 to10 times. if the resistance to spining diminishes significantly, then its junk. and most 48 year old clutch fans with 50K+ miles on them are in fact worn out. mike
