    Mid Year Convertible Top

I am going to install a new cover on my convertible top and looking for help on the frame.
I haven't taken it apart yet, but I know I have some wear in the pivot points. Can you share your experiences with replacing the rivets? Is it the rivets that wear, or are the holes probably worn oversize?
I would appreciate any thoughts on how to proceed and suppliers of rivets etc.

    Thank you,
    George

I have seen very few with any wear. I dont think, I would take the trouble to change rivets unless there is some serious problem. It aint like the thing is cycled thousands of times.

I heard a story from a C2 convertible owner that removed the rivets that hold some of the top pieces together to have the pieces chromed. Now wishes it was never removed the original rivets because of not being able to duplicate how well the origninal rivets functioned.

        Wayne, Jim,
Ok, that sounds like good advice to me, consistent too! I will leave things as they are unless I find something serious when I get the old cover off.

Now I have another question. I replaced the weather-stripping on the soft top a couple of years ago. On the vertical seal along to top of the side windows the weather-stripping is crushed, in the same spot on both sides, about 1.5 inches from the back edge of the window. This is happening because when the top is down it is crushed against something, can't recall at the moment what it is hitting. Have you seen this issue, and is there a missing stop or what needs to be adjusted to prevent this.
        Thank you,
        George
