    Help finding stolen 66 Coupe.....

A buddy of mine had his 66 Coupe, VIN #: 194376S125936, stolen sometime back in 75, 76ish from his driveway in Royersford, PA and I've been trying to help him find it, or at least find out what ever happened to it. Can anyone out there steer me in the right direction to begin looking for it? I've come across insurance sights online that charge a fee, but I'm not sure which, if any would do us any good.
Any and all help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Jim wish you luck. I had a 64 that was stolen from me in Dallas, TX in 1969. Thanks to the thief John Marino Flores speeding in my 64 Corvette on a Dallas street couple nights later he was pursued by the Dallas Police Department. The chase was on and more than one Dallas policeman were chasing him. He did not wreck, but stopped and tried to run. Dallas policeman W. A. Craven 2420 gave pursuit on foot and tackled the thief.

If your friends 1966 was insured when it was stolen and reported to the police and he still has a copy of the police report he may be able to get help on a nationwide check of the serial number from the police. Things have sure changed since 1975. If he does not have a copy of the police report to use he could make a written request to the Police Chief for a copy.

Couple years ago a man from TN had his Corvette stolen many years ago. A check of the serial number was made of this Corvette just prior to it being shipped overseas and it was discovered it had been stolen many years earlier. The owner was very happy to get his car.

There may be something in the NCRS archives about the recovery.

No telling what a frame check of serial numbers would turn up on Corvettes that are not in the original owners garage.

Thanks Jim! I'll pass that info along to him. I'm sure he'll appreciate it. Glad to hear you got yours back. Actually, now that I think about it, not two months ago I was at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green and read the story of, and saw the car that was recovered! Good stuff. Check out the Corvette Museum website. The story may be on there. Thanks again!

Why not contact Roy rsinor@sbcglobal.net and see if the car has ever been judged?

We know it's a coupe. What color combo and engine size was it when it was stolen?

Hi Jack. The car was dark green with a 396 teardrop hood (teardrop was lime green), with black interior. It had a 327 in it. Don't know the hp.

First thing that went was the paint, then the vin plate.

Try instavin, for $5 you can't go wrong.
