    63 fuel pump mounting plate

Is the fuel pump mounting plate engine orange, or something else?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Let's see if you can answer this!

Is the fuel pump called out for assy to the engine in your copy of the AIM? That means it was installed at St. Louis and not at the engine plant in Flint/Tonawanda. By the time the core engine assy reached St. Louis it was already painted...

The engine plants test fired engines using propane vs. gasoline. Therefore, they didn't need to have carb's and fuel pumps present to start/run.
