    C1 Spare Tire Board

I purchased 3 new foam pads to secure to the bottom of the new board I constructed last weekend. Were the pads glued in place with yellow weatherstrip adhesive? I could not discern any weatherstrip adhesive smeared around the pads on my original board.

Joe, my original has no glue showing.

It is funny that the workers were careful and neat when applying adhesive to the foam rubber pads (not visible), but sloppy when applying adhesive for the jacking instructions (visible)!

Joe, I "assume" the metal and board and pads were delivered to St. Louis assembled. I don't know when the jacking or posi labels were installed but " assume" at St. Louis. Supplier didn't know if the car would have posi (but did know it would have a jack).

I am sure someone knows and hopefully will answer.

          Joe -

I don't have a '58-'60 Assembly Manual, but the board should be in section 10 or 14. Any parts shown with a part number symbol/callout were installed at St. Louis. If the board shows as a "board asm." and there are no part numbers for the pads or glue or center plate or screws, it came in as an assembly.

I am 1,500 miles away from my 1960 AIM. I will double check when I return home Friday afternoon. That is a very good observation.
