    Corvette Interior 1966

Been awhile since I posted and this question has probably been asked before. I'm going to replace the interior in my 66 roadster along with the weather stripping on the doors and would like to know who sells the best for the best price. Seems like leather covers have went sky high. Is soft seal still the best and softest for the doors. Whose carpet fits the best, general question about interior. Your likes and dislikes.

    Thanks Jerry

The windshield pilar seaks s*** big time, I wish I had not taken mine off, no where near close to the original in shape, fit, correct # of push pins, screws, the flap etc. I'd rather make due with a tired original versus how poorly those were reproduced.

Do you think maybe they came from China? Ask your vendor every time you buy today id it come from China? Then the risk is yours. If it came from China through a major vendor in Cincy there's a 50-50 chance it's

I tried both brands most people here write raving positive reviews about and both are supposed to come from the midwest.

Facts are facts, they don't look anthing like a 63-64,
65-66 or 67 pilar seal and the fit is worse. Yes, there are differences and they did not even do a good job of copying the 80's service part.

Perhaps these parts should be labeled REASONABLE FACT SIMILE not REPRODUCTION.

Lack of similarity is a better description, the bottom line is most people that wanted the right thing found the 'reasonable facilmile' in the NOS parts, they show up from time to time and last a life time so its a one shot deal to get close. Those part were a take off of the last design. Should be plenty of survivor carsw with their original strips at NOVI this summer.

How about some names of good enterior vendors. Seat covers -leather, carpet, weather stripping around the door. Need to get these items and need to know where to go. Been along time since I bought from the guy in Texas, is his guality still good. How about the company in north Alabama.

Al Knock is the best for seat covers, interior parts, and carpet.

                  Jerry

Be sure to check/inquire on the pleat size on the seat covers you select. All should be the same size -- 2" wide. Numerous '66 covers seem to have the forward pleat on the seat & the upper pleat on the back at about 2-1/4" & it is readily visible. Maybe this was a mistake that has worked it's way out of the repro seat cover production, but it was a quite common condition in the recent past.

Corvette America is the best for seat covers, and interior parts.
