Another Piece of Motor City History Bites the Dust

While driving down 9 Mile Rd. In Warren, Michigan a couple of weeks back I had to stop and take a couple photos (below) of the old Holley Carburetor Complex at 9 MIle and Hoover. It was a fairly large complex of buildings that has been sitting empty for years. No idea why all of a sudden they decided to demolish it, maybe a Burger King or Rite Aid. Possibly just to save on what I am certain was a stiff tax bill for abandoned property. Another saddening example of how far this area has declined, and I thought I would share.

Bowling Green KY. Just down the road from the GM factory and National Corvette Museum.

I have visited that Holley plant in Bowling Green, but I remember it as an older more industrial looking building. Perhaps because I was a passenger on a bus I didn't get to see the front door.
