    2006 C6 QG7 Polished Wheel Question

On the off chance, has anyone with an 2006 with the QG7 wheel option, polished aluminum, recorded what is cast into the wheel?

Not the rim covered by the tire when mounted but the area on the reverse-side of the center hub.

I can't get to my car to remove the wheel right now.

    Thanks

Tom, thanks for the pictures. I just got a picture of a wheel that I am looking at, new in box. I have a curb rub on one of my fronts.

The wheel looks the same as the one I have, best I can recall, but the castings certainly look different that the casting you posted????

GM is cast into the wheel.

      Thoughts.

Just went through a bunch of wheels I had stashed upstairs and didn't have a one with the Speedline marking on it like the one you posted. I've looked at a million wheels, but never looked really close at the backs. Don't remember seeing too many Speedline on one.

Harrry, I PM'ed you a letter about the wheel situation in 06.

If I remember right, Amcast produced the C6 wheels. When they went bankrupt Speedline was contacted and began producing wheels and shipping them to Bowling Green. I'd say the outside of the wheels should look the same.

Tom, yes, the outside looks the same. There are no weights on the wheel, little squares.

Just to be safe, I'm taking my old wheel/tire and new wheel to a Chevy dealership to do the swap. I'm not sure I trust the local tire guy to do this job.

            Thanks

I wouldn't trust the dealer to dis-mount / mount this tire. I'd find a good tire dealer to do it. JMHO

Could your original wheel be repaired??

Yes, but I got this new in the box wheel for less than the repair would cost.

OK, Brian, I used VIP instead of GM to swap the tire, valve and pressure sensor. Nice job for $27.00.

I've gone through the Owners Manual and looked on-line and it's impossible to fine the torque spec. for mounting the wheel/tire.

                    Anyone know what it is?

                    Thanks
