    67 Power Window Motor Trouble

Any ideas as to why my power window goes up very very slow but going down its very fast ? Also I found one wire hanging in the door panel but cant tell where it goes. I found two plugged in at the bottom of the motor and the extra one has a plug on it. Thanks

Re: 67 Power Window Motor Trouble

Has this been a problem for a long time or just happened? If for a long time, how long if at all has it been since the door window regulator and all of it's componets have been taken out, cleaned and re-lubed? When going up the motor is working to over come the load of the regulator spring and when going down the spring is helping it down that is why it is slower going up than down. The regulators in my 73 (non power) had gotten to the point that I couldn't roll the window up with out great pressure and pulling up on the window.I removed everything in the door and soaked it in carb cleaner, then re-lubed and reinstalled. They now work very easy
