windshield wipers:
I can't seem to get my wipers to start on my 1972 Coupe. I put on a new wiper door vacuum switch and all new hoses. I did remove the actuator and reinstall. I did'nt mess with any adjustment to the actuating bolt or extention bracket. The wiper door works fine and opens all the way. Is there an adjustment to the actuator rod and nut that should be held? I did not do anything with the limit switch or harness. The dash switch ( above gauges ) and switch below the steering wheel works fine. Suggestions? Thanks Carl

Re: windshield wipers:
Hi Carl..I had the same problem with my 69 when I got it..mine just wouldn't stop..I am not sure if I can post this here but I found that Wilcox corvette has a perfect video of a wiper motor doing a bench test..it shows what it should do with voltage changes to certain pins on the motor..I used it and found what I need to do..

I looked for the video and couldn't find it right away..I did spell Willcox wrong also its www.willcoxcorvette.com Go to repair/install on the lower left of the screen..and scroll down to 68-72 wiper motor test..at the bottom of the lists is an email address ..might be able to get them to get you the address ..if I remember right it was on you tube..might search there also..great video though..very simple to do..found it on you tube..search willcox corvette..there is the video right there..that should get you going good.

Re: windshield wipers:
I had this problem with a 1970. The issue was a poor ground (rare in Corvettes). Directly grounding the wiper motor resolved the problem.
It was not the first thing I checked.- Top

Re: windshield wipers:
Carl, when you turn switch on and the wiper door opens is the limit switch depressing the button all the way? Also take a test lamp and see if the switch has power on both sides of the red wire. This switch powers up the motor. and so does the knob under dash, you may want to check also.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
