Dual Point Distributor 891 and oiling tube

See the picture. I have cleaned up my distributor and am putting it back together. I bought a new oiling tube and need to know the trick for getting the extended end of the wick into the distributor housing (see picture). If you have done this, let me know how before I mess up this $34 part.

I can take the distributor shaft back out of the housing and feed the wick into the hole and try to pack it into the groove inside the housing, but then I'm not sure if I will be able to get the shaft back in.

The other way I see is to leave the shaft in the housing and try to poke the wick through the hole and around the shaft.

    Thanks,
