56 brake pedal bracket

The 56 I am working on the brake pedal bracket I believe was not installed correctly when removed. The tab on the dash end of bracket was mounted below the dash which I believe may be wrong. I think its suppose to be mounted under the dash on top of the steering column support bracket. Correct? Thanks Ed
