62 Front Engine Mounting Bracket hole

I have reviewed the AIM, as well as the archives here, to answer my question on the Front Engine Mounting Bracket (Ox-bow) and have not found an answer.

Why is the "right side" top hole where the cushion mount bolts go through larger then than the "left side"? All of the assembly diagrams only show the left side, which fits the bolt correctly, where there right side is much bigger?

Does something go in to fill this space?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Probably to allow for manufacturing tolerances in the positioning of the frame-mounted engine supports.

Does something go in that hole to fill the space, or just the washer and nut that is on top of the brace allowing the support to possibly float +- 1/4" or so?

I would think that torquing down the nut would cause the washer to start to collapse into the hole. That is how mine did was

      Thanks,

Anthony, Do you have a photo? I think mine are the same. They are installed so I am not sure what you are describing. There is an elongated hole on the driver's side that is for a driver's side generator bracket to go thru.

As John says, there is a wide tolerance with the frame rails, frame motor mount brackets and the ox-bow mount itself. The rubbers have a center spacer and the flat washers are large. It will not collapse in the hole. -Dan-

            Thanks Dan.

John, Here is a pic of what I am talking about. You can see the difference in the 2 holes.

If you use the thick flat washer it will not colapse. The larger hole is correct.
              Nothing goes in the hole.
