    67 BB Evaporator mounting bolts

Does anyone know where I can get the 4 proper mounting bolts for the evaporator? I'm assuming it takes J-nuts and 4 large bolts. Every website has the evaporator but no mounting hardware.

    John,
It's late and I'm tired but I think I'll take a stab at this as I finishes my A/C box with a new evaporator.
I think it is held in place with the rubber cushion. I do not remember any bolts, just the gromets and cushions.

Dom do you know if there is a reference to these rubber plugs? I'm going to call all the vendors today. The build book doesnt even mention them.

Dom if you have some picture of yor AC rebuild it could be very helpful. My problem is I didn't take this car apart and now I'm trying to figure out this puzzle.

        John,
I was tired because I see the mounting plate on the evaporator in the pictures I posted.

I got the seal kit from LICorvette and it has all that you need with exception of the mounting screws that hold the evaporator in place.

I didn't take pictures as I rebuilt the box but I think I can take a few today of the completed unit and point out the mounting screws that hold the evaporator in place while you assemble the box around it and the rubber cushions & gromets.

I am sure you will be able to get it done correctly. Also I believe the 63 or 64 manual has the info you need.

          John,
here are the pics I said I would take.

The first is one of the (4) fasteners and (4) U clips.

The U clips go on the evaporator and the 4 sheet metal screws go thru the box and hold the evaporator in place.

My 4 sheet metal screws have 3 dots on the 3/8 head and all the rest of the sheet metal screws that hold the box together have a C on their 1/4 in head.

There is a pic of the box with one of the 3/8 head sheet metal screws removed. It go's thru the outside of the box and into the U bolts that are on the eveporator.

Here are the rest of the pics I took that might ID parts and where they go.
Also a pic of where to get U bolts out of a AIRCRAFT SPRUCE book.

Re: 67 BB Evaporator mounting bolts

Thanks for the help, I have another question. Is there a clamp from the botton of the blower assembly to the evaporator box. I know a square foam seal goes between them but is there anything that goes around it. It's not set up to take any screws or bolts so I'm thinking its some type of clamp.

There is something and I will try and get a pic today and post tomorrow.

I remember holding that square while fastening something.

I did that about a year ago and moved on to the next so it's hard to remember.

                    John,
Here are the pics of the brace that holds the square fome in place between the blower and evaporator box.

DOM thank you so much! I have that bracket and had no clue what it was for......

I didn't take the car apart so every thing is a new challange and I have not seen one illustration that shows that bracket. I checked it out and two hole match perfect Thank you again

I checked LIC, Paragon and CC, and did not see that bracket listed on any of their websites. It is pictured in the 1967 AIM as part of the "Blower & Evaporator Asm." on UPC C60-D5 (Item 8), but the bracket itself is not called out with a separate name or part number.

Does anyone know what the GM part number is for this bracket?

                          Scott -

That's because it was part of the Blower & Evaporator assembly as-received at St. Louis; you'd need the Harrison drawing of the assembly or the reference layout to find the bracket part number.
