Looking for camshaft break in article.

My brother is building a new engine and I wanted to show him an article on camshaft break in that I'm sure I read here. I thought Duke wrote it. I've searched and can't seem to find it. Anybody have a link ?

    Thanks

      Tom,
Any chance of posting that? I have preached it since I was twisting a wrench in 71 at a Chevy dealership when I was told that GM actually had engines dissambled and break in lube put on cams.
The aviation industry is still using 1930's designs and forbids the use of break in lube and actually forces non detergent oil for break in.
I was told by a ( now retired) continental engine rep that over 80% of engine overhaul was due to camshaft failure, (the engine has to be completely torn down to get to the cam). He said they denied the problem exhisted and went on.
I have evolved since the 50's and break in with detergent oil and coat the cam & lifters with cam lube. There are still hard nose guys that doom the engine at start up just to scrape the rings in while beating the metal off their cams.
I would like to show them this article

Not exactly an "article" but a very good thread none the less...

That was the one I was looking for here. I had a print out of it, but missed it in my search.

          Thanks TC.
