    Re: hidden treasures

At 17 years old I got my first real job working as a detailer at an auto dealership.
We pulled the back seat lower cushions out of every car, during interior cleaning. Always found tons of change, keys, and the typical stuff previously mentioned here. Spent the 90% silver coins on soda pop during breaks.

The only item I ever kept, was a star socket drive.... an assembly line worker left stuck in the rear seat belt bolts. Sorry, but I now can't remember if it was a 1960s auto, or an early 1970s. Most likely a GM car.

    Marked: K M, J23457, USA ,..... non-chrome or nickel plated.

Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .

My '77 and '78 SA came from St. Louis with the usual loose rivets in the bins and a couple of scraps of carpet. The items I value the most are the FE-7 markings on the front crossmember, paper tags and on the '57 especially the ink stamped dates on the trunk and deck lid under the hinges, on the backside of kick panels, etc.

these are some great stories guys. thanks for sharing. i worked at a dealership detailing cars too. i found all sorts of things in cars. lots and lots of change.enough change to buy pops for the day too. sometimes lunch if it was a van or suv.
i still detail today.self employed now. except now i cant keep the change as a tip though. it all belongs to the customer. i have to put everything back in the vehicle.
