    66 powerglide kickdown linkage

Can I please get pictures of known original 66 small block powerglide kickdown linkages and carb/KD springs?I don't need the bellcrank and below-just up by the carb. Is the 67 SB linkage that mounts to the carb different than 66? One big question is does 66 use to carb/KD springs. What about 67? Thanks!!

A side note resulting from some previous disscusions: I believe due to a little research that 65 66 67 powerglide tail shafts did not have the bosses to mount a shifter as the PG shifter mounts to the fiberglass tunnel.63-64 may have had the bosses.

    Russ,

This was the way the linkage looked on my early Oct '66 coup when I bought it in 1988. The engine and transmission were original to the car but the engine had a rebuild before I bought it, so this may not have been the way it left St. Louis. No one ever questiond this configuration as the car received a Duntov and Bloomington Gold award. The AIM show a revision in late Oct. '65, so maybe a different linkage was used on later '66 PG cars. Hope someone has a Bow Tie car we can compare to.

Thanks Chuck. Would still like other examples including 67.

Thanks Terry, What you have is what I was beginning to think was a 67 linkage and what Charles has may be what the 66 linkage rod is suppose to be. Terry, what do the two rearward springs mount to at the rear? I was surprised to see a total of three springs on your application.

            Russ -

On Terry's '67 setup, the rear of the inboard spring hooks on a tang on the vertical leg of the crankcase vent tube bracket, and the rear of the outboard spring hooks on a tang on the front edge of the spark plug wire support; photo below shows both points - it's a 4-speed, but both '67 327's had those brackets/tangs - they weren't unique to Powerglide cars.

The '66 Powerglide kickdown linkage had a major running change in April/May '66; the setup on Charles' car is the one used prior to the running change (which added the slotted lower rod, springs, and a unique spark plug wire support).

Chuck, On your front carb spring-Is it suppose to be hooked where you have it on the carb end or is it suppose to go thru the cotterpin hole in the accelerator rod?
