Just finished a restoration on a 1966 spare tire tub. The tub has the original white date stamp. My question is for judging reasons. The original white date stamp is blurred and you can't read the month, day, or year. Should I leave the original white date stamp or remove the original and restamp the tub so you can read the month, day, and year? Thanks

Re: 1966 Spare Tire Tub
Here is a photo of my original June 20th 1966 tire tub date stamp. If yours is an original stamp I'd leave it alone. They didn't care how this stuff looked when they did it.Attached Files- Top

Re: 1966 Spare Tire Tub
Agree with Dave.......I would leave it alone. As a mid-year judge, I would prefer to see an aged original stamp versus a new, perfect restamping.
Also as Dave mentions, not every tub or lid was date stamped.
My opinion. Larry- Top
