    John D. , you should ask Jack Podell for his advice on fixing those cracks .........

      Ridge, Thanks but I am aware of what is involved with repairing cracked plenums. I have had 100's of them repaired. None came out perfect but most came out presentable.
      The worlds best welder can weld the plenums as I mentioned before. But after that it's down hill and takes lots of patience, time, and bucks.
      But say a car owners serial number is stamped on the plenum. Then you have to do whatever it takes to save that rare part.
      But we are off the subject just a tad. My point is that when you are looking to buy a mid year FI unit one of the main things to check is the castings. If the castings have issues then keep on looking.
      With all the horders starting to cut loose with their stash there is no shortage of units out there. Must not be as they keep coming in the door. JD
