How was your trip ? I looked for your car on Friday ,but didn't see it. Did all go well, I hope. What route did you take?

      hi stephen,
we took your route. it was a nice easy drive. very scenic. thanks for that.
we didnt get there till late around 6:30ish friday. my car unfortunately, developed an oil burning problem. we believe it sucked in an intake gasket partially. it would only smoke off throttle. ran ok at highway speeds but in town i was fogging for mosquitos. so i was pretty bummed out about it. i did make the show saturday. i was parked in the loading docks where the auction cars came out. i got alot of lookers and compliments and met a bunch of nice people who were more than willing to help me out with my car.
      hi joe,
i'm sorry. i was so bummed about my car,i forgot all about looking for you. i was walking around inside there for awhile with my wife. it was warmer for her in there.
i did only see one other fuelie car there. it was a 65 sitting inside at the ncrs area. it was great to talk to that guy. he even came out and looked at my car and gave me some very helpful pointers! i wish i could remember his name. i feel bad for forgetting.

take care and thanks guys for looking out for me,
      matt

not yet tom...i'm hoping for a relatively easy fix. will know by this weekend whats going on. i am still confident on manifold gasket. no blow by,everything seems to check out visually. if it had blow by i would think rings. and it only smokes when the throttle is closed which leads me to believe the guys in tenn when they were thinking it was sucking in oil through an intake gasket. i'll let you know when i see you this weekend. i hope you have a great turnout!
          take care,
          matt

i have some great news!! nothing major with my engine!! the rocker arm nuts had backed off on 3 of the pasenger side cylinders. and one exhaust rocker arm was completely off the pushrod. everything checked out great and it's back to running great too!. whew. i"m glad that's all it was. my mechanic put on poly locks and readjusted all the valves. i cant believe that it still felt decent on power even with one cylinder down.
everything is good again. unfortunatley i have to shut down my mosquito fogging business now that my car is fixed.
