    tennessee corvette expo

just wondering if anyone is going to the corvette expo show at the end of march. it would be a good trip for me to break in my engine. i'm considering it if the weather decides to be decent.
    take care,

      Matt,
I go every time they have one.
I don't drive my Corvette because it usually rains, and rains.
If you need a room, there is a Fairfield Inn (Marriott) right down the Parkway that has excellent rooms with breakfast for around $55.00 and no bedbugs.

            Matt,
I believe they have Corvette only parking, check before you go into the regular parking lot.
Regular parking is or was $5.00 and show admission is or was $10.00.

                  Matt,
Did you make it down to Tenn?
Looked for your car on Friday but didn't find.
The weather was good and bad.

                    hi bruce!
we didnt get in town till late friday. i was there today. i was parked down in the loading docks where the auction cars came out. it didnt rain today till late. a couple spinkles but nothing to complain about. i plan on coming down again in oct. hoping for better weather then.
i had a problem with my car on the way down...it started burning oil at an idle on the passenger side. after talking with a few guys,we believe the intake gasket had been sucked in. i had 3 oil wet plugs. i lost 2 quarts of oil on the way down. it runs great on the highway but loads up bad and blows blue smoke in traffic. it was real embarrising to say the least.
so i'm hoping for a relatively easy fix. it was such a bummer for this to happen.
i have to say though, there was a alot of good people here i met who was willing to help in anyway they could. it made me feel alot better knowing i had help.
wish me luck. i still have to drive home on sunday. sorry i didnt get to meet you bruce. i appreciate you looking for me. i had some great compliments on my car and met some real nice people!

In October the big Corvette show and swap meet will be North of Sevierville at Morristown, TN. Just about 3 minutes off I-81 with no traffic hassles. You could lose the building at Sevierville in the building at Morristown.

made it back home! car ran great still. just tried my best to keep the throttle open to prevent the engine from sucking in oil. that trick worked until i had to stop to get off highway for fuel. then it would blow blue smoke unless i held the idle up. i did lose 2 quarts on the way home too.
thanks again to all who was there to offer moral support because i was pretty bummed out about it. but i know it can be fixed so i will be back in oct with a cleaner burning car.
