Grandson Aydan, now 3 1/2 years, takes the shift know off the 65 everytime he msees it. He thinks its a ball. I keep an old one on the car just because of this.

When Sophia (Pictured in the Vette) visited us last summer, the first thing she said when we got her home was that she wanted to go in the garage and see "Poppy's half-car."

Interesting...she's never seen the Vette with the top up...of course its a half-car when you're three.

I have 2 daughters that are over 35 and both are gearheads after growing up going to all the car shows with me. I had a red S/W for many years and have fond memories of them jumping in the back and fighting over which window they would have - the vette hobby gave me the opportunity to spend great amounts of quality time with them and they are still Daddy's little girls. My youngest daughter has 2 girls both care not about my vettes. My oldest daughter has a 6 year old son, who always wants Pop Pop to let him listen to the side pipes - he does not sit still enough to attend car shows, but the time is getting near to start the cycle of kids and car shows I CAN'T WAIT. Enjoy them while you can as they get old too soon.

            Bill,

            Thanks for your post.

Here's another shot of my parade queen:

So what if my Corvette is a little dinged up!

Appreciate your post because it seems to get back to the old TDB with the emphasis of "enjoyment of the Corvette automobile".

Maybe we are getting just a little too technical on the new TDB. Why not mix a few things about the "enjoyment", rather than a discussion of what's correct, and the correct part number.

            Just my observation lately.

            Let's have some fun.

My parrents still own the 65 they bought in 69 when I was two. I grew up in that car. I bought my 63 in 85 when I graduated high school. when my daughter was born in 99 I mounted a car seat in the back for her, she loved it, when i bought the 59 in 03 I could not get her out of the car, The 63 is willed to her. My 5 year old son is allready talking about when he gets the 59 and the 69 camaro. I have no doubt that they will be proud to own Corvettes, and pass on the family tradition
