    C1 front axle shim

I need to replace the front shim as part of my rebuild. I ordered two new ones and they measure about 0.050" thicker then the originals. This increase in thickness is overall and not specific to one area. Will this be an issue down the road?

Maybe your old ones are .050" corroded away?

The extra thickness won't affect the handling one iota, as long as the taper is the same.

I doubt some judge is going to caliper your shims for correct thickness, either

I actually use two shims per side in my '61 car to bring the caster into spec, I couldn't get it there with one shim.
