    door jamb switch connector crimper

Does anyone know how to safely remove pins from the left door lamb switch connector. That's the small cylindrical connector with 3 pins on the 77.
And does anyone know what type of crimp tool was used.

I just got a new full harness set and the only flaw I've found on testing was one wire that slipped out of the pin.

    Thanks as always.

In some cases no matter what I did I could not get the terminal to stay in the white insulator. In those cases I ended up epoxying the terminal in.

If you know how to remove them it is an easy task. They have a tang that is bent out that catches a step in the round terminal housing.

First I push the plunger in so the brass terminal does not touch the base of the switch.
Second I push the wire further up into the round terminal housing to get the bent tang off of the step in the round terminal housing.
Third I then put a right angle or a hook pick and in through the top of the round terminal housing (the part that when the plunger is released touches the housing) and gently pry the bent part of the brass terminal back into the rest of the brass terminal.

You should then be able to easily pull the wire out.
Sometimes the terminal is corroded in the terminal housing and really fights.

      Hope this helps, Rich

Or get a replacement terminal (they're out there), push the plunger of the switch in to access the top side that's doubled over, cut it, remove the two pieces and install your factory fresh replacement terminal...

thanks. I appreciate the replies. I may end up with the whole terminal replacement but just curious if anyone knows of a good crimper to do the pins.
I have an old ratcheting crimper I used for crimping electronics parts but I think the die is too small.
