Reading the post about a '67 and vinyl vs leather judging reminded me of a book on restoring the '64.
This is what the author claimed:
1) For the '63, the only color that was available in leather was tan.
2) The man that stamped the trim tags in early '64 thought the only color that was leather was tan like the '63, so for the early '64s, he simply didn't check and marked all colors other than tan as vinyl regardless if it was leather.
Does this author know what he is talking about or is this an "urban legend"?
