    Ignition Light Assembly

I'm in the process of putting a new wiring harness in my 1964 roadster and I'm having trouble installing the small lamp assembly for the ignition switch.
It looks like I have to pull the ignition switch out in order to mount the small lamp assembly into the back of the gauge cluster? If this is the case how do I remove the ignition switch. I have bazel wrench but do not know how disassemble the front of the switch, bazel nut will not go over the key slot. Looks like I need to put something in the two small hole on the face of the key piece?

not quite sure it's same on your 64, but on my 65 you put key in ign, place straightened paperclip in tiny hole in switch face, turn key left just past ACC position, and tumbler can be pulled out with key. Once out, you can easily see how to remove switch assembly.

      Don -

It's a LOT easier if you turn the key fully counter-clockwise before you insert the paper clip, then turn it further CCW to remove after inserting the clip.

      Dave -

If your ignition cylinder has two holes in the face, it's a Service replacement cylinder; the original only had one hole.

john is correct in that original cylinders have a single hole to insert the paper clip. if yours has two holes, pat kraus can supply the correct item.mike
