April issue has a good pitstop on pg. 112 on the coil and ballast resistor on GM cars. It starts of with a guy asking about his tach running on full 12 volts. Ends up being a tech response.........

Yes, it is an excellent article - I enjoyed it. I'm saving it for the next time a particular blowhard "electrical engineer and ignition system designer" over on CF jumps in when someone asks what the ballast resistor does, and the "expert" claims that the resistor only controls current flow and doesn't reduce voltage.

I talked to the HOT ROD website guys yesterday, and Marlin's article will be up on their site by the end of the day on Monday, 2/28.
