1966 Laguna Blue

Painting a 66 back laguna blue. Does anyone have any pics of a body in laguna either in laquer or in the base coat before the clear? I would like to compare others to what I have.

Jeremy - Send me a note at tehlers@hess.com and I can reply with some pictures of my car in various stages of paint. I cut out a section of the original laguna blue to keep as a reference. Tim

Here ya go. This is Laquer no clear, painted in 1995.

You are going to have a very hard time with the metallic in that color. Getting the right tint or hue is also pretty tough. It is one of those colors you can change the air pressure a couple of pounds and end up with a totally different looking color

Here are a couple of pics of my Laguna Blue '66 coupe taken shortly after repainting with lacquer in 1980. The color may be off after all these years.

BTW, it is vin #699 and was stolen Jan. 11, 1981. If you happen to run into it, please let me know!

That car is owned by the original owner. He told me that when he had it restored back in the early 90's it was painted with factory pack, no clear. After it was restored. He got a Top Flight and Bloomington Gold. After he got his awards he has been enjoying driving it.. I don't think there are to many original owner Mid Years out there.
