Since we will have our own transportation, would there be any benefit in booking any of the tours thru the registration vs just going on our own when we get to the camp ground. We will be 23 miles away from Novi.

I think the benefit is if you want to go with the group.
And, I'd say that abouit half the events are not open to the general public, i.e. if you don't go with the NCRS, you won't go.
