    1960 Trunk Weatherstrip

My old weatherstrip had an approximate 6 inch gap above the center line of the latch area. Is this correct or should the ends touch at the center line above the latch?

    Joe,
The trunk weatherstrip ends should not touch. They should be very close (1/8" to 1/4") but typically no more. You should also be able to see the cord support on both ends.
