OK, who owns Delco

I have been trying for some time to identify the organization that owns the blueprints for the old Delco Remy distributors.

Delco Remy is no longer a company.

I contacted Remy International, Inc. They told me that they had the paperwork for the starters and alternators, but that the distributors went to Delphi.

Delphi says that is wrong, they don't have it.

So, who has the paperork for the old Delco Remy distributors? Anybody have any idea?

From new service boxes, it seems that Delco is GM trademark. The patent on the distributor up to HEI was held by GM, not sure if they allowed a transfer, might be worth while to see if there was a change of ownership. Who did you talk to at Delphi?

I drive by the old Delphi plants in Dayton, Ohio all the time.
All now abandoned. There is probably lots of old stuff laying around inside.

I just checked the box my 914 distributor is in and it was made by Delco Remy in Anderson, Indiana.

Possibly someone from that area can shed some light on your question.
