Sheet 4 of A01 to A12 of the AIM shows the door sill ground strap. The strap is shown with eyelets on both ends. My Oct built 73 LS4 coupe has eyelets on both ends.

The details of the AIM drawings are often unreliable, but FWIW the "door sill" ground is shown in the 1968-1972 AIMs as an eyelet on one end and a friction clip on the other for up to 1972. A Bowtie 1972 we saw in the Wisconsin judging school over the weekend has the style shown in the 1972 AIM. If you want I can get the part number and perhaps we can see where the AIM change date is if we compare the part number in the 1973 AIM (which I do not have). I did not look too closely at that drawing because I was after the Mark IV spark plug wire ground details on the adjacent page.

Terry, the part number in the 73 AIM for the door sill ground strap is 6290663. The number for the two screws shown, is 9422402.

The newest I have here at work is 1970. That number is 2982782 for the door sill strap and one screw 9420152. I will check the 1971 and 1972 AIMs tonight to see if those numbers changed going forward.

I could not find the door sill ground strap in either the 1971 or 1972 AIMs. 1973 must use a different organizing system than earlier AIMs, I am familiar with finding a page by the UPC number and sheet number. The phrase "Sheet 4 of A01 to A12" is not familiar to me.

I was doing an oil change on my 74' convertible yesterday and had read these threads so looked for the ground strap. It was present in the area of the body mount on the drivers side. It was fairly easy to see the lower end of the ground strap from below the car and I could see the upper end by shining a light down the inside of the fender from above. Mine was bolted on both ends through a lug at each end of the strap with star washers used on the bolts. It appears from the previous responses that the 73' configuration is the same as what I found.
