82 vette hood alignment

The front of the hood on my 82 is lower than the bumper,,I tried adjusting the rubber adjusting bumpers by the windshield and that did not work,,,It is off by about 1/2 inch. Any suggestions?:

Steve, 1/2 in. is alot to be off, is there something that maybe rusted away, as in the lower radiator support? I Know that they make shims that go under the hood hinges on C3 cars that adjust the height. but generally not a 1/2 inch.

Thanks Ed,,I may be off a little,,I have the car in storage so have not measured exact,,but I will go 1/4 to 3/8..I thought about the hinges,,but the hood is off mostly at the center near the nose,,and is fine along the rest.

Steve, Does the car have a factory hood? factory Bumper? Sometimes fit of after market pieces has a litttle to be desired as for fit. maybe at sometime the bumper may have been bumped and push up a little and alignement of the parts was not done. try losen the retainer nuts and bolts and see if maybe you can move the bumper around alittle and then re-tighten.

The owner did not mention that,,he said all was stock,,but who knows,,,I will try the bumper adjustment though,,thanks,,,
